VEDIC TEACHING

The Vedas are the ancient texts of Hinduism and there are four Vedas:-1.The Rig Veda, 2.Sama Veda, 3.Yajur Veda  4.Atharva Veda. The Vedas are know to exist since  the universe beganIt is understood  that the oldest of the four Vedas, the Rig Veda, was composed about 1500 B.C.,and codified about 600 B.C. It was finally committed to writing approximately around 300 B.C.

The Vedas constituting shruti, are considered sacred text,the mantras of which were divinely revealed to rishis  who meditated deeply.

The Vedas contain hymns, incantations, and rituals from ancient India.They contain immense  spiritual value, and provide a deep insight into everyday life in India four thousand years ago.

A number of Vedic mantras are recited as Hindu prayers, at religious functions and other auspicious occasions,even today.
